At Integrated Direct Primary Care, we want to make sure our patients have the resources they need. We want you to fully understand their health and wellness needs and treatments through efficient and accurate testing methods. Below are additional testing options that we offer and recommend for a clear picture to move forward toward health and wellness.

Recommended Additional Testing Options:

Gene Insight

It can be a frustrating process to find the right medication when it comes to your mental health. Gene Insight helps your practitioner gain insight into how your genetics may impact the efficacy of certain medications.

GeneSight is the perfect solution if you’re wondering if medication is the best treatment for your mental health concerns. At Integrative Direct Primary Care we use GeneSight testing to analyze your DNA and get customized medication recommendations for your medication and treatment plan. Use online scheduling or call our office to arrange your GeneSight DNA testing today.

What is GeneSight?

GeneSight® is an advanced genetic testing tool for mental health treatment recommendations. With this test, we can determine exactly how your body responds to medication and which medication is best for your specific DNA makeup. GeneSight testing saves you a great deal of trial and error when it comes to getting the relief you need.

In a clinical study of the GeneSight psychotropic test, patients saw a 50% improvement in symptom relief when compared to patients who pursued a normal course of non-customized treatment.

What kind of GeneSight testing is available?

There are several types of GeneSight testing, including:

Psychotropic

The psychotropic GeneSight test analyzes your body’s response to drugs for neuropsychiatric conditions like depression, anxiety, OCD, and bipolar disorder. It shows results for dozens of common neuropsychiatric drugs like Wellbutrin®, Xanax®, Prozac®, and Ambien®.

MTHFR

The MTHFR test measures your body’s quantity and use of folic acid. You must convert folic acid into its active form, L-methylfolate, so you can make important neurotransmitters like dopamine. The MTHFR test tells your doctor whether you need supplemental folic acid or L-methylfolate.

GeneSight tests to help Integrative Direct Primary Care design the most effective and customized treatment plan based on you.

How does GeneSight testing work?

GeneSight testing is quick and easy. You’ll simply swab the inside of your cheek to collect the DNA and then you place it in sterile packaging before sending it directly to the GeneSight clinical lab for analysis.

When will I get GeneSight results?

The GeneSight lab sends Integrative Direct Primary Care the test results in less than 36 hours, and you’ll quickly have an appointment to review the results with your provider. We will discuss your personalized treatment plan with you, and you can begin treatment right away.

GeneSight testing takes the guesswork out of mental health. To learn more or schedule your GeneSight genetic testing, call Integrative Direct Primary Care or book your appointment now. Learn more about GeneSight on their website by clicking here.
